Richardson responds to Bush's address

Richardson's response to Bush's address last night can be found here, but to quote:

"I strongly oppose any plan to increase American troop levels in Iraq. Sending more American troops will not make us safer. It will only add to the sectarian violence that is already tearing Iraq apart. ... The only surge we need in Iraq is a diplomatic one. We need to withdraw American troops from Iraq this year, redeploy our men and women to Afghanistan and other international terrorism hotspots and reinvigorate our diplomacy throughout the Middle East." Gov. Bill Richardson.

Who better to help us with a diplomatic surge than the man who just negotiated a cease fire in Darfur?

Governor Bill Richardson, we need you as President!

Loved the blog, disagree about Gov. Richardson's stance on Afghanistan. We were there once, we want to control a nasty situation that we obviously cannot control. (see Iraq, Vietnam, Several South American countries) We want this to be the new Vietnam or Colombia (see spraying the crops stance) What we could do is start buying opiates from them and drive down the cost of pain medication instead of sticking with the Golden Triangle monopoly which is making a fortune for someone. Then the farmers growing poppies could drive home in a new Ford F150 to their nice homes. People here could afford pain medication and maybe the money would go to the Taliban but if a Taliban run country is the wish of the people, isn't that what democracy (of the people) is all about?
